In 2015 I started demonstrating symptoms of neurological issues. I am starting this blog in May of 2019, just a few days after my 47th birthday, as a place to log what I know, what I don’t know, and some research references behind it all.
I live in Atlanta, Georgia with my amazing husband of 22 1/2 years, our 20-year-old son, and eight cats. (Yeah… that could be its own blog.)
I left my career of 15 years when it became clear that the stress of the job was causing damage to my brain, and when I figured out that time is short, my cognition may not recover fully, and I have lots of things I want to do with my life.
I am a writer working on fiction and personal essays. I’m also a photographer, selling photos for home & office decor. Should my health improve, I look forward to capturing events as they happen.
I have a degree in English from a school with an excellent reputation. Please note that I will edit as I can, but much of what remains stolen from me is my ability to find words and maintain my train of thought. I ask your patience with this, especially as the primary purpose of this blog is to find out why a person who used to gobble books up and remember them well now has to make notes in margins and lists of characters.
